Salisbury Willis released from MDA
Published: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 2:00 pm

Milan Digital Audio have released Volume 1 (Wet version) of the 1877 Father Willis pipe organ located in Salisbury Cathedral, England. Volume 1 (of 3) features 28 ranks over 4 manuals and pedal.

The OSTŪ (Original Sampled Tremulants) method of recording was applied allowing users to play real sampled tremulant ranks for the entire Solo division as well as all reeds and the Vox Angelica.  All samples were digitally recorded in 32 bit 96kHz and converted to 24 bit 48kHz for the final release. Multiple releases for all ranks (short, medium, and long) were recorded, as well as separate long tremmed releases for the ranks recorded with tremulant.

This historic instrument is considered the best work of Henry Willis and is quite possibly the most highly acclaimed organ in England.

A Surround Edition as well as a Dry Edition are planned for in the future.

Please visit the Milan Digital Audio website for further details and ordering information.
